Job Role: Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Location: Melbourne, Australia/ Hybrid (With occasional travel to client sites)

Contract Duration- 6 Months+ (Up to 12 Months +)

About the role
n
We're looking for a meticulous QA Engineer who treats attention to detail as non-negotiable. You'll own the quality of software running across mobile apps, web platforms, and physical hardware devices, catching the edge cases and defects others miss before they reach a customer.
n
You'll work autonomously, planning and running your own testing from start to finish, and you'll be the key link between our support and development teams when incidents come up. This is a hands-on, manual-first role. Exploratory testing, well-structured test plans, and careful verification matter more here than building automation suites.

What you'll do
n
n
Write and run detailed manual test cases across web, mobile, and hardware devices
n
Plan, design, and run your own testing independently, with minimal oversight
n
Act as the conduit between the support and development teams during incidents, reproducing and escalating issues and keeping both sides informed through to resolution
n
Run exploratory and edge-case testing to catch defects that scripted tests miss
n
Test on physical devices, including handheld and rugged devices and barcode scanners, under real-world conditions
n




Run functional, regression, and end-to-end testing ahead of each release
n
Coordinate and support UAT across test, staging, and production environments
n
Log and track defects clearly in Jira, and work with developers to get them resolved
n
Work with developers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and agree the test approach early
n
Check API behaviour and backend responses (Postman or similar)
n
Feed into release planning and call out quality risks early
n

What we're looking for
n
n
Exceptional attention to detail. You catch the one-pixel misalignment and the off-by-one error, and you won't sign off until it's right
n
Proven experience maintaining live products across multiple platforms for active clients
n
A self-starter who works autonomously and can take testing from planning through to execution
n
Solid experience in manual and functional testing of web and mobile applications
n
A methodical approach to test coverage and defect reproduction
n
Ability to write clear test cases, bug reports, and reproduction steps anyone can follow
n
Comfortable being the bridge between support and engineering, staying calm under incident pressure and communicating clearly with both sides
n
Experience with Jira or a similar issue-tracking tool
n
Robust written and verbal communication
n
Melbourne-based and able to travel to client sites from time to time
n

Required:

Immediate joiner or available to join within 2 to 3 weeks after selection.

Work Permit Holder for Australia or Australian Nationals.
