We are looking to fill multiple positions for our backfill casual pool. This role would be great as a second job to earn some extra cash, or for a univerity student who wants to pick up some occasional shifts!

Your Main Quest
n
As a Support Worker, known as a Mentor, you will be responsible for the safety, fun, and learning of young people with disabilities.
n
Your day-to-day tasks will include, but are not limited to:
n
Assisting Members as they learn new skills in one of our many programs.
n
Ensuring Member safety both on campus and when out in the community.
n
Providing emotional and social support to Members.
n
Investing in the success of our Members and supporting them to achieve their goals.
n
Your Skills
n
Prior experience and/or qualifications in the community services sector is desirable but not essential. The absolute must-haves:
n
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment: No seriously, we're constantly on the move whether that be on campus or at parks, shops, and more!
n
Be a jack-of-all-trades: Diverse backgrounds and skills are key to ensuring our Members have exposure to a wide range of experiences,



so be sure to let us know of any of your weird, wacky, and wonderful areas of interest.

A compassionate personality: You must be a patient, kind, and caring person as we will not accept anything less
n
Be and have fun: We want all of our staff and Members to love coming to BEST, so being someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously is essential (singing and dancing badly is encouraged)
n
Belief in the BEST mission: We want our Members to actually learn the skills they need to achieve their goals, and eventually not need us anymore!
