Job Description
Join a dynamic Sydney-based design studio as a freelance interior designer, supporting the team approximately three days per week during a colleague's maternity leave and peak project periods. You will collaborate closely with the Design Director to develop and refine concepts, ensuring the studio's design language is consistently applied across a diverse portfolio of retail, hospitality, dining, placemaking, and residential projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile environments, from large-scale retail developments to specialty residential spaces, and requires a strong balance of creative vision and technical expertise.

Deliverables

Develop and present concept designs, narratives, and material palettes for client approval
n
Produce detailed plans, 3D renders, and presentation materials
n
Refine and document designs through all project stages, including tender and construction drawing packages
n




Prepare FF&E; schedules and specifications in line with project requirements
n
Ensure all documentation complies with BCA/NCC standards and studio guidelines
n
Collaborate with the Design Director and project teams to maintain design consistency and quality
n

Requirements
n
n
Minimum three years of skilled interior design experience, ideally within retail, hospitality, or residential sectors
n
Robust conceptual, creative, and presentation skills
n
Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe InDesign, and Photoshop (PC environment)
n
Demonstrated experience in detailed documentation and construction drawing packages
n
Solid understanding of BCA/NCC requirements and compliance
n
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
n
Ability to work on-site in Sydney on a part-time contract basis
