is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.

The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and highly and highly skilled
Control Room Operator
responsible for safely operating the Karara Concentrator Control Room in accordance with established operating protocols and guidelines. The role requires strict adherence to Safe Working Procedures and effective communication with field personnel.
Working on a Full-time
8 days on 6 days off and 7 nights on 7 days off
roster, FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton.
To be successful in the role, the following is essential:
Western Australian C Class Driver's Licence
Robust mechanical skills and proficient in written and verbal English communication
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Commitment to ongoing improvement and learning
Experience with operating PCS systems in a control room environment, with a solid understanding of mineral processing
Control system experience within continuous process industries




Skilled in prioritising and managing multiple tasks, with the capability to provide clear guidance to team members in a processing plant
National Police clearance
To be eligible to apply for this role you must be legally permitted to work permanently in Australia.

Operate and deliver according to specifications, aligning with Karara policies, procedures, plans, and strategies
Safely control, monitor, adjust, record, clean, and improve key concentrator sections
Ensure all plans, procedures, and work instructions are understood and followed, maintaining full compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards

Work effectively with other key departments
