Position Overview
At KBR, our Adelaide team is trusted to deliver some of Australia's most complex and impactful infrastructure projects across Defence, Water, Resources and Industrial markets. We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities
Leading and contributing to the delivery of mechanical engineering design packages
Defining project scopes and developing practical engineering solutions
Preparing concept, preliminary and detailed designs for mechanical and hydraulic systems
Designing infrastructure including pumping stations, treatment facilities, industrial plants and process systems
Developing technical specifications and selecting appropriate equipment and materials
Coordinating with construction contractors and supporting project delivery activities
Providing technical guidance and mentorship to designers and developing engineers
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions
Contributing to design innovation, standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Experience Required
A Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
Experience delivering detailed design projects within infrastructure, industrial, water, resources or Defence environments
Strong knowledge of Australian engineering standards and industry practices
Experience working directly with clients and multidisciplinary project teams
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
Highly Regarded Experience: Hydraulic modelling experience
Pipe stress analysis experience
Experience using software such as CFD, FATHOM, WaterGEMS or CAESAR II
Essential Criteria
Be an Australian Citizen
Be eligible to obtain and maintain a Baseline Defence Security Clearance
Be ITAR eligible – As this team supports Defence programs, access to certain information and technologies is restricted to ITAR-eligible personnel.
