Job Description

ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street is seeking a passionate and reliable Full-time Commis Chef to join our energetic kitchen team.
n
n
The role involves preparing and presenting high-quality dishes across breakfast buffet, à la carte lunch and dinner and conference catering.
n
You will support daily operations and take initiative when working independently.
n
Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment, ensuring mise en place is ready, and upholding food safety standards in line with current regulations.
n
You'll be expected to follow strict stock rotation procedures, minimise wastage, and assist with stock control.
n
Equipment care and cleanliness are essential, with any issues reported to the Executive Chef.
n

Qualifications
n
The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience, and show strong teamwork, flexibility,



and a commitment to delivering memorable guest experiences aligned with the ibis Styles brand.
n
n

Trade qualification in Cookery
n
Experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel environment.
n
Detail-focused with the ability to deliver consistently high-quality food under pressure
n
Energetic and proactive with enthusiasm to develop your culinary expertise
n
A team player who easily builds rapport with colleagues and guests alike
n
Time management skills with the ability to multitask
n
Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of team members
n
Flexible availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
n
