$84,618 - $110,834 (plus 12%% superannuation) – qualification dependant
About Us
BKI is seeking a Community Service Teacher to join our Health and Community Centre of Excellence (HACCOE) Department at Broadmeadows Campus to teach and inspire the next generation! You will be working in state-of-the-art facilities, equipped with simulated labs to train professionals within the community sector. About The Role
As the Community Services Teacher (Alcohol and Other Drugs), you will play a key role in developing the next generation of practitioners supporting individuals, families and communities affected by alcohol and other drug-related issues.




In This Role, You Will
Deliver high-quality training and assessment in Alcohol and Other Drugs and related Community Services qualifications.
Create inclusive, engaging and supportive learning environments that promote student success.
Use contemporary industry knowledge and real-world examples to enhance learning outcomes.
Support students through coaching, mentoring and practical skill development.
Adapt teaching approaches to suit diverse learner needs in a classroom environment.
Collaborate with industry and internal stakeholders to ensure training remains relevant and responsive to workforce needs.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and innovative teaching practices.
This role is ideal for an experienced community services professional who is passionate about education, advocacy and social justice, and wants to help build a skilled workforce that creates positive change across the community sector.
We Are Excited About You Because You Have
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or willing to enroll
Certificate IV or Diploma of Alcohol and Other Drugs
One (or Multiple) Of The Following Qualifications
Certificate IV in Community Services
Diploma of Community Services
Certificate IV in Mental Health
Diploma of Youth Work
Diploma of Counselling
Bachelor of Community Services
Experience And Knowledge
Possess a high-level specialist knowledge, skills and competencies especially regarding laws affecting clients, the range of services available to them and health issues in the community services sector
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel etc
Has an understanding of cultural sensitivity and respects and values difference




Can identify language, literacy and numeracy issues
Can adapt communication style to suit audience and context
Ability to build constructive relationships with stakeholders
Understands the concepts and practices underpinning digital and blended learning and applies as a supplement to the learning program
Ability to use digital learning for administrative functions, to communicate, collaborate and for presentations
Provision (and maintenance) of current driver's license where relevant
