Looking for a landscape maintenance role where you're trusted to get on with the job, finish early and still have opportunities to develop your career?
We're recruiting for a
well-established and growing commercial and industrial landscape contractor
looking for an experienced Landscape Maintenance Crew Member to join their Brisbane team.
This is
not residential garden maintenance
.
You'll be working exclusively across
commercial and industrial landscapes
, including industrial estates, warehouses and distribution facilities, business parks, schools and commercial developments.
Your primary focus will be landscape maintenance, but if you're interested in broadening your experience, there's also the opportunity to get involved with the company's
landscape projects and soft-landscape construction team
.
What's on offer?
$40 per hour + super
, depending on experience and capability
6:00am–2:00pm, Monday to Friday
No weekend roster
Permanent, full-time position
Contracted maintenance portfolio providing
year-round work
Paid day off for your birthday
Uniform and PPE supplied
Company vehicle and plant provided where required
Tickets, licences and relevant training supported and funded
Genuine progression to
Leading Hand, Foreman or Supervisor
Supportive, approachable management
A down-to-earth team with a
no big egos
culture
The role
You'll work across an established portfolio of commercial and industrial sites throughout
South East Queensland
.
This isn't a role where someone needs to stand over you all day.
We're looking for someone capable of taking responsibility for their allocated sites, planning the work, delivering them to a high standard and identifying anything that needs attention.
Day to day, you'll be involved in:
Commercial and industrial landscape maintenance
Zero-turn, ride-on and push mowing
Edging, brushcutting and blowing
Hedging and pruning
Weed and pest control
Plant health and landscape presentation
Turf maintenance
Basic irrigation checks and repairs
Operating and maintaining landscape machinery and equipment
Completing site reporting, checklists and before/after photos via phone or tablet
Liaising professionally with clients and site contacts
Supporting less experienced crew members when required
You'll also have the prospect to step across and assist with
soft-landscape construction and project work
, including planting, irrigation, mulching, turf and landscape installations.
Requirements
What we're looking for
Attitude is just as important as ability.
We're looking for someone who's reliable, takes pride in their work, can work independently and is the sort of person others enjoy having in the crew.
Ideally, you'll bring:
Around 3+ years' commercial, industrial or body corporate landscape maintenance experience
Good plant identification and practical horticultural knowledge
Confidence operating zero-turn and ride-on mowers and other landscape equipment
A current Queensland driver's licence and confidence towing a plant trailer
White Card
ACDC licence, or willingness to obtain one
Good attention to detail and pride in site presentation
Confidence dealing professionally with clients and site contacts
Ability to use a smartphone or tablet for daily job reporting
The ability to work independently and manage your day
A Certificate III in Horticulture or Landscape Construction, irrigation experience, chainsaw, EWP, skid steer or loader tickets would all be well regarded, but aren't essential.
More than just a maintenance role
The business has two growing areas -
commercial landscape maintenance and landscape projects
- which creates genuine opportunities for the right person.
If you enjoy maintenance and want to stay on the tools, there's plenty of ongoing work. If you'd like to progress into a
Leading Hand, Foreman or Supervisor
position, there's a genuine pathway to do so.
And if you'd like more variety, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside the projects team and gain further exposure to landscape installation and construction.
Good pay. Early finishes. No weekend roster. Year-round work. A good crew and genuine opportunities to progress.
If you're an experienced commercial landscape maintenance professional looking for a better long-term opportunity,
