Spring Hill Baths is seeking a motivated and hands-on
Venue Manager
to oversee the day-to-day operations, people, programs, and customer experience at this much-loved community aquatic venue.
As part of the City Venue Management (CVM) network, Spring Hill Baths plays an important role in connecting people through swimming, health, recreation, and community engagement.
This is a great opportunity for ahands-on operational leaderwho enjoys being visible in the venue, supporting a team, solving problems, and making sure everything runs safely and smoothly each day.
Spring Hill Baths is asmall, community-focused venue, so this role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys being close to the day-to-day operation rather than managing a large or complex facility. You will be a key point of leadership on site, with responsibility for keeping the venue, team, customers, and operations running effectively.
About the Role
As Facility Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of Spring Hill Baths, ensuring the facility operates safely, efficiently, and in line with organisational objectives.
This is ahands-on leadership role, with a strong focus on daily venue operations, customer experience, team support, safety, and facility presentation. You will work closely with the broader CVM network and operational leadership team while taking ownership of what happens on site.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the venue team across operations, swim school, customer service, and aquatic programs
Oversee the day-to-day management of the facility, ensuring a safe, clean, welcoming, and well-presented environment for all patrons
Be a visible and approachable leader on site, supporting staff and responding to day-to-day operational requirements
Drive membership, program participation,
and swim school growth through exceptional customer service and community engagement
Manage day-to-day operational requirements, reporting, and financial performance
Ensure compliance with all legislative, safety, risk management, and child safeguarding requirements
Maintain high standards of pool plant operations, facility presentation, cleanliness, and asset management
Build positive relationships with local schools, community groups, stakeholders, and customers
Foster a positive workplace culture focused on accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement
Work collaboratively with the broader CVM team and seek support where required
About You
You are a
practical, proactive, and people-focused leader
who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operation of a venue.
You don't need to have managed a large aquatic complex. In fact, this role will suit someone who is looking for the opportunity to take ownership of a
smaller venue and lead from the front
.
You may currently be working as a senior lifeguard, swim school leader, duty supervisor, assistant manager, facility supervisor, or in a similar operational leadership role and be ready to take the next step in your career.
You will be someone who:
Enjoys being hands-on and visible in the venue
Can confidently take responsibility for day-to-day operations and make decisions when required
Has solid leadership and team development skills
Is organised, reliable, and proactive in identifying and resolving issues
Has a strong commitment to safety and delivering an excellent customer experience
Communicates well with staff, customers, contractors, and community stakeholders
Can work autonomously while knowing when to seek support
Is passionate about swimming, recreation, community, and creating positive experiences for customers
What You'll Need
Current Swim Teacher and Water Safety qualification
First Aid and CPR certifications
Current Pool Lifeguard certification
Valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
Pool Plant Operator certification (or willingness to obtain)
Experience in an aquatic, leisure, recreation, hospitality, or community environment
Previous experience supervising or leading a team is highly regarded
