Job Description
Our large federal government client requires two Solution Architects to help shape and strengthen the organisation's future technology landscape.
n
Due to the nature of clients we work with here at Kinexus and the projects these roles will be based on, an Australian Government TSPV clearance is essential.
n
These opportunities do not have the ability to obtain sponsorship for a security clearance (including applicants who currently hold a security clearance seeking to upgrade).

ABOUT THIS ROLE
n
We are seeking a skilled Solution Architect to support the delivery of a seamless, secure, and integrated digital ecosystem. The primary objective of this role is to drive technology rationalisation by simplifying the enterprise architectural footprint and reducing technical debt and complexity across corporate workflows.
n
The Solution Architect will provide technical guidance and governance to ensure that all work programs align with the Branch's three pillars of operational maturity: People, Process, and Technology. The incumbent will apply lived technical experience to develop forward-thinking architecture strategies that mitigate systemic operational risk and enhance enterprise resilience.
n
Key focus areas include the enforcement of technical baselines to reduce redundancy, the identification of dependencies to ensure cohesive delivery, and the promotion of a collaborative culture to enable partner integration and operational scalability.
n
We are also seeking another skilled Solution Architect who can drive change and simplify complexity to shape the future of our technology landscape. As part of a centralised enterprise architecture team you will provide architecture guidance and support to technology work programs and technologists ensuring alignment between solutions and the department's intended future state.

Your lived experience of day-to-day technology challenges will be critical in crafting forward-thinking architecture strategy and design to guide investment that aligns with our business objectives and technology strategy. You will be exposed to a constant variety of technology-driven initiatives, identifying risks and dependencies for an assured and cohesive approach to technology delivery. Your ability to foster collaboration across a technical cohort and build relationships will be essential in driving partner-enablement.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
n

Lead Architecture Outcomes for Operational Maturity: Drive a strategic approach to technology investment that prioritises the delivery of a seamless, secure, and integrated digital ecosystem, ensuring technical output aligns directly with business value.
n
Drive Technology Rationalisation: Ensure all proposed technical solutions align with the Branch's strategic priorities, specifically reducing technical debt, eliminating ecosystem redundancy, and accelerating the transition to a high velocity cloud environment.
n
Institutionalise Technical Knowledge: Develop and maintain a centralised repository of reference architectures, standards, and blueprints to eliminate key-person risk and provide repeatable, optimised frameworks for service delivery.
n
Enable Innovation and Velocity: Identify and integrate emerging technologies and intelligent automation to pivot human capital from repetitive sustainment tasks toward strategic, high-impact initiatives.
n
Mitigate Systemic Operational Risk: Proactively identify and manage architectural risks and critical dependencies, ensuring enterprise resilience and the stability of corporate workflows.
n
Foster a Collaborative Enablement Culture: Build strategic partnerships across the technical cohort and external agency partners to optimise organisational throughput and ensure a cohesive approach to digital ecosystem delivery.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
n
n
Mandatory Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in a Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering related discipline.
n
Demonstrated 7+ years of hands‐on work experience in a system/platform technical design, software development or system/platform administration field.
n
Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities,
including communicating technical and architectural concepts to both technical and non‐technical audiences.
n
Proficiency in analysing business and technical requirements to provide strategic guidance and support decision making.
n
Demonstrated experience in managing and delivering multiple lines of tasking in a resource constrained environment.
n
An eagerness to learn and inspire others.
n
Ability to think critically and respectfully contest ideas to facilitate informed decision‐making.
n
Resilience and drive to work independently with minimal supervision to achieve outcomes.
