Job Description

The Role:
n
To work as a Mechanical Apprentice, providing support to a variety of mechanical tasks, specifically in the assembly, fabrication, and maintenance of Minetek's primary product range.
n
Responsibilities:
n
n
Supporting the assembly, fabrication, and installation of mechanical components, machinery, and equipment
n
Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation
n
Following instructions and taking direction from skilled Trades on all matters related to the Apprentice learning and development program
n
Interacting harmoniously within the team, offering support where needed and contributing to a positive work culture and environment
n
Seeking opportunities for greater exposure to learn skills and develop knowledge for practical application
n
Maintaining an awareness of safety requirements in accordance with company policy, whilst identifying potential hazards and working with the business to minimise risks
n
Displaying an ability to retain the information and skills learnt on the job, while putting your increased knowledge to the best possible use
n
Adhering to TAFE NSW task requirements to start and complete a 4-year Apprenticeship course. This includes attending TAFE once a week at the closest campus
n
Communicating information to essential personnel within the business,
making Supervisors and HR representatives aware of your progress through the program
n
Developing a knowledge of and keeping up to date with relevant industry and Australian standards
n
General mechanical tasks associated with assembly, fitting, machining, and testing as per business requirements
n

Well-rounded problem-solving skills with the ability to think and act quickly in a fast-paced environment
n
Can remain consistently reliable and flexible to the changing environment and priorities of the business
n
Will take direction, have an inherent willingness to learn, and can adapt performance accordingly when presented with constructive feedback
n
Always polite, well-mannered, and respectful in accordance with our company values and behaviours
n
Committed to the requirements of the Apprenticeship program and regular course targets established by TAFE NSW
n
An ability to identify and suggest process improvements and new ideas
n
A genuine team player who works effectively with others and is self-motivated when working autonomously
