ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Underground Manager, the Senior Project Engineer plays a key role in leading and delivering underground mining projects safely, on time and within budget.
This position provides technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through to execution, commissioning and handover, working closely with operations, technical services and contractors to ensure alignment with production and site objectives.
KEY DUTIES AND TASKS
Lead the planning and delivery of underground mining projects in line with safety, cost and schedule targets.
Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules and execution plans, and monitor performance against approved targets.
Provide technical leadership across engineering design, constructability, risk management and change control.
Coordinate closely with operations, maintenance, electrical, dewatering and technical services teams to minimise production disruption.
Manage contractors and consultants, including scope definition, performance and cost control.
Identify and manage project risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented.
Oversee procurement of materials, equipment and services in collaboration with supply chain and finance.
Support commissioning, project handover and close-out, including documentation and lessons learned.
Prepare and present clear reports, schedules and cost forecasts to site leadership.
Ensure compliance with WHS (Mines) Act **** (WA), regulations and site standards.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
Demonstrated experience in underground mining projects or operations
Strong understanding of underground mining methods, infrastructure and project execution
Sound knowledge of WHS (Mines) Act **** (WA) and associated regulations
Experience in project management, scheduling and cost control
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Valid Australian work rights and ability to meet site access requirements
