Branch and Team Overview
Information and Security Branch coordinates the IT and Securityservices and support to the Mint to enable the organisation toproduce circulating coins, preserving the National Coin Collectionand telling the stories of Australia by recognising significantanniversaries, events and organisations through coins.
Application Support team within the Information and SecurityBranch is responsible for supporting the core IT applications ofthe Mint and works in collaborations with other IT teams within thebranch to support the Mint in meeting its objectives andobligations.
About the Role
Assistant SoftwareAnalyst – Enterprise Services
As an Assistant Software Analyst, you will work under the directionof senior team members to provide vital Level 1 and 2 support forthe Mint's core applications, including the ERP setting (EpicorKinetic), Point of Sale (POS) systems (Precise POS), data analyticssystems and other assigned applications.
This role works collaboratively in a small team to deliversupport services to the Mint for the ERP and Asset Managementenvironments.
A major focus of this role is system interoperability.
You willplay a hands-on role in monitoring and maintaining currentmiddleware and REST API integrations, while actively assisting inthe research, design, and testing of future integrations.
This is agrowth role where you will expand your technical capability,helping to build scalable connections that modernise the Mint'sevolving digital landscape, whilst ensuring compliance withwhole-of-government frameworks.
The Associate Software Analyst – Enterprise Services alsoescalates issues with external support providers and may contributeto ICT project work.
The Duties
The duties of this position include:
1) Current Integration & Application Support: DeliverLevel 1 and 2 support services for allocated applications.
Activelymonitor, troubleshoot,
and maintain existing system integrations,with a specific focus on middleware platforms and RESTful APIs,ensuring seamless data exchange across the Mint's environment.
2) Future Integrations & Continuous Improvement:Expand your knowledge of emerging technologies and assist theSenior Software Analyst in identifying, analysing, and testingmodern approaches for API development.
Help plan, configure, andimplement future integration pipelines to connect new and legacyplatforms.
3) Architecture & Solution Documentation: Develop andmaintain accurate solution documentation detailing the structureand configuration of assigned applications.
Map out currentintegration workflows, API endpoints, and middleware routing, whilehelping to draft documentation for future integrationarchitectures.
4) Project Contribution: Contribute to ICT projectsand work packages, particularly those focused on systeminteroperability and deploying new integrations.
Provide technicalassistance, test integration options, and ensure all work complieswith relevant legislation, as well as the Mint's andwhole-of-government procedures, policies, and frameworks.
5) Change Management: Investigate, manage, and applyauthorised requests for changes to applications and integrationlayers in accordance with the established ICT change managementprocess.
6) Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with internalbusiness areas to understand their data needs, gather requirementsfor future data flows, and provide information and advice tosupport team deliverables.
7) Service Monitoring & Incident Resolution: Monitorcustomer feedback, service requests, and incidents.
Develop andmaintain procedures for incident resolutions and problemworkarounds, using this analysis to update processes.
Escalatecomplex Level 3 or critical integration failures to senior staff asrequired.
Security
This position requires a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
Thesuccessful applicant will be required to obtainand maintain aclerarance at this level.
