Salary:
$145,000 to $165,000 (pro-rata) per annum + 12% superannuation
About the role
Are you looking for an opportunity to be part of a small innovative organisation seeking to make a positive difference in the local region?
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Strategic Planner to join our team.
The Northern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (NSROC) Office is located on the lower North Shore in Lane Cove.
NSROC represents eight local Councils that have come together to address regional issues, work cooperatively for the benefit of the region and advocate on regional positions and priorities.
NSROC is a leafy region that has a vibrant and diverse village atmosphere.
The Senior Strategic Planner will drive collaboration across member councils to identify and support the effective delivery of advocacy programs, policy advice and projects with a focus on strategic urban planning.
The role will collaborate with council officers' working groups on key urban development and infrastructure planning.




The role reports to the Executive Director of NSROC.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
Tertiary qualification in planning or related field and substantial experience in NSW planning frameworks and policies
Superior knowledge of emerging urban planning, housing affordability and liveability challenges, and issues for the local government sector
Demonstrated experience in the development of evidence-based policy options and advice
Proven success in relationship building, negotiation, and cross-organisational collaboration.
Demonstrated achievement in project delivery including development, planning and implementation.
Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and negotiation skills;
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet competing deadlines;
Current and valid C Class Drivers License.
