About the role:
Whilst working as a Chaplain you will direct pastoral and spiritual support and coordinate the provision of these services to our residents, clients, staff and volunteers. We have residents with differing requirements, most have dementia, and you will need to be versatile and empathetic, with the ability to communicate effectively in all situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide appropriate pastoral and spiritual care in response to identified needs and referrals
Promote holistic, person-centred care by assessing and evaluating residents'spiritual needs to enhance their spiritual fulfilment
Coordinateappropriate responses to needs through the direct provision of support or by arranging and facilitating other relevant services
Develop solid collaborativerelationships with staff and volunteers involvedin the care of individuals and provide supportto family membersensuring a team approach to pastoral and spiritual care
Prepare and conduct weekly church services that embrace multi-faith perspectives
Prepare and conduct memorial services as required
Develop local resources for site to utilise in end-of-life scenarios
Liaise with organisations of other religions to arrange services at the facility
Complywith Juniper values, policies and procedures and work within a Christian ethos
Key requirements:
Completion of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent – desirable
Experience in a pastoral care role, preferably within an agedcare or health setting
Able to exercise an impartial pastoral ministry to aged people, regardless ofrace, creed or faith, including an awareness of the core tenets of the main Christian denominations and major world religions
Experience in working with those with Dementia
Pastoral or theological training or qualifications (or training in a related field)
A Pastoral reference
