About the role
n
SENT is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Melbourne operation.
n
We are a growing Australian transport and logistics company operating across regional distribution, interstate linehaul, local transport, parcel delivery, warehousing and cross-dock services.
n
With our Melbourne operation continuing to expand, we are looking for someone who knows the transport industry, knows how to find opportunities and can turn those opportunities into long-term customers.
n
This is a genuine sales role.
n Your main focus is winning new business.
n
What you'll be doing
n
n
Find and develop new transport and logistics customers
n
Build relationships with transport, logistics, procurement and supply chain managers
n
Generate your own leads and opportunities
n
Attend customer meetings and site visits
n
Identify new tenders and contract opportunities
n
Work with our management and finance team to develop pricing and proposals
n
Present proposals and negotiate with customers
n
Help transition recent customers into our operations team
n
Maintain relationships with the customers you bring into the business
n

What we are looking for
n
n
Experience in transport, freight or logistics sales
n
Existing knowledge of the Melbourne transport market
n




Strong network and industry relationships would be highly regarded
n
Proven ability to win new business
n
Good understanding of transport pricing and operations
n
Confident dealing directly with senior customer contacts
n
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
n
Commercially minded — we want profitable business, not revenue for the sake of revenue
n
Experience selling interstate linehaul, local distribution, dedicated transport, warehousing/3PL or parcel distribution would be particularly valuable.
