In this role, you will help ensure that as communities grow and change, the stories, places and cultural values that define them are not lost. You'll provide expert heritage advice on major development and infrastructure proposals, reviewing Aboriginal and environmental heritage assessments and helping decision-makers understand the significance of heritage values. Through collaboration, respectful engagement and sound technical judgement, you'll help create planning outcomes that honour our shared history while supporting the needs of future generations.

We're looking for someone who:
Is passionate about protecting and celebrating heritage, recognising the important role it plays in community identity, connection and belonging.
Brings experience in heritage assessment, archaeology, heritage management, planning or a related field, with the ability to provide practical and defensible advice.
Has experience working with Aboriginal cultural heritage or historical heritage matters and values the importance of respectful and culturally appropriate engagement.
Can analyse complex information and apply sound judgement, balancing heritage considerations with broader planning and community outcomes.
Builds trusted relationships with stakeholders, collaborating effectively across government, industry, communities and technical disciplines.
Communicates clearly and thoughtfully, translating complex heritage matters into practical advice for a wide range of audiences.
Essential requirements
Degree qualification in a related relevant discipline and/or relevant experience eg. Bachelor of Heritage Conservation, Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Arts (Archaeology, Heritage).
