The Centre:
We are supporting a beautiful, purpose-built boutique early learning service located in Melbourne's South East.
Designed to inspire curiosity, connection and learning, this community-focused centre provides children with a warm, nurturing workplace where they can thrive.
Committed to building meaningful relationships with children, families and educators, the service fosters a genuine sense of belonging and creates a welcoming community for everyone who walks through its doors.
The Role:
As the Assistant Director, you will work closely and collaboratively with the Centre Director to lead the day-to-day operations of the service.
Together, you will provide strong leadership, support and guidance to the team, ensuring the centre continues to deliver exceptional outcomes for children, families and educators.
This is a genuine leadership partnership where you will play an integral role in driving centre quality, fostering a positive team culture and supporting the strategic direction of the service.
You will act as a trusted support to the Director, sharing responsibility for educational excellence, compliance, team development and family engagement, while confidently overseeing operations in their absence.
Key Responsibilities
Partner closely with the Centre Director to lead and support the daily operations of the service
Provide coaching, mentoring and leadership to educators, promoting a collaborative and high-performing team culture




Support the implementation of the centre's vision, values and quality improvement goals
Build strong, authentic relationships with children, families and the local community
Assist with staff rostering, occupancy management and centre administration
Support curriculum development and educational excellence across the service
Maintain compliance with the National Quality Framework and all regulatory requirements
Confidently oversee centre operations and decision-making in the Director's absence
Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education
2 years minimum experience in a leadership role within an Early Childhood Education setting
Thorough understanding of the National Quality Framework, EYLF and Child Safe Standards
Strong leadership, excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Current Working with Children Check
Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma qualifications
A genuine passion for delivering high-quality early learning outcomes
