Job Description
The Role
n
Reporting to the head of IT (Australia) The Senior IT Administrator is responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of all Rohde & Schwarz Australia's networking and datacenter infrastructure which supports the organization's day to day operations.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Design and manage our LAN, WAN, and Firewall setups. We primarily use Aruba, Checkpoint, and Cisco, ensuring everything is redundant and secure.
n
Handle the day-to-day management of Windows Servers, Hypervisors, and cloud services.
n
Strengthening and maintaining security standards (ISO *****/DISP), managing patches, and running vulnerability scans.
n
Work with our global teams to manage security threats via SIEM and EDR tools.
n
Manage our enterprise backup platforms and lead our Disaster Recovery (DR) testing.
n
Lead mid-sized IT projects, such as rolling out new infrastructure or applications.
n
(L2/L3) support for our Australian staff, including monthly local travel and an annual trip to Germany.

The Person
n
We are seeking a technical leader who balances strategic oversight with a hands-on approach to problem-solving. You possess the ability to translate complex technical challenges into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
n
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
n
A track record of leading IT infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet all capacity and security requirements.
n
Experience with Checkpoint Firewalls is essential to this role
n
Experience with Aruba Routers and Cisco switching is desirable. The ability to rapidly diagnose and resolve complex network and system failures in high-pressure environments The ability to rapidly diagnose and resolve complex network and system failures in high-pressure environments.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
n
Extensive experience in both enterprise network and system administration. Can demonstrate where networking has been a primary role.
