About the Role
n
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable and experienced female Disability Support Worker to provide regular support to a participant living in Waterford West.
n
The participant is seeking a female support worker who has a calm, mature and respectful approach and can communicate clearly and confidently in English. Building a positive, consistent and qualified working relationship with the participant will be an important part of this role.
n
Current Shifts
n
n
Tuesday: 9:30 am–1:30 pm
n
Friday fortnightly: 9:00 am–1:00 pm
n
Saturday: 10:00 am–1:00 pm
n
n
Additional shifts may also be available with participants in Waterford West, the wider Logan area and surrounding locations.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
Depending on the participant's individual support needs, duties may include:
n
n
Community access and social participation
n
Capacity-building activities
n
Assistance with personal care and daily routines
n




Domestic assistance
n
Meal preparation
n
Transport to appointments and activities
n
Medication assistance
n
Supporting the participant to maintain choice, control and independence
n
Completing accurate progress notes and documentation through ShiftCare
n
Following the participant's care plan, routines and risk-management requirements
n
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
n
Current Blue Card or willingness to obtain one
n
Current First Aid and CPR certificates
n
Reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle
n
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Ageing or an equivalent qualification; a relevant health qualification; or currently studying toward a relevant qualification
n
Availability to work the advertised shifts consistently
n

Highly Regarded
n

Previous disability support experience
n
Experience providing community access and daily living supports
n
Medication competency
n
Personal care and manual-handling experience
n
Experience supporting participants with complex disabilities
n
Nursing or allied health experience
