Contracts Administrator | Commercial Builder | Brisbane

If you're a Contracts Administrator who wants proper involvement in project delivery - not just processing claims and updating registers - this is worth a look.

A privately owned construction business is looking to add a CA to its Brisbane team. Based from the Fortitude Valley office, you'll work closely with Project Managers and site teams across the commercial delivery of their projects.
n
They need someone who can write a proper scope, compare trade coverage, keep forecasts accurate and stay ahead of variations.

The role
n

Preparing trade scopes and tender packages
n
Managing subcontractor procurement
n
Reviewing quotations and identifying scope gaps
n
Preparing subcontract agreements
n
Assessing progress claims
n
Managing variations and contract correspondence
n
Maintaining cost reports and project forecasts
n
Supporting head contract claims
n
Tracking commercial risks and outstanding information
n
Attending project and subcontractor meetings
n
Assisting with close-out and final accounts
n
n
The position is office-based, with site visits and project meetings as required.

The builder
n
The business delivers new-build, refurbishment and upgrade projects across education, health, retail,



office and industrial sectors throughout South East Queensland.
n
The commercial and delivery teams work closely throughout each project, giving the CA exposure beyond basic contract administration.
n
Are you suitable?
n
n
At least three years' experience as a CA with an Australian commercial builder
n
Experience across commercial recent-build or refurbishment projects
n
A sound understanding of procurement, cost control and contract administration
n
The ability to prepare clear trade scopes and compare subcontractor pricing
n
Confidence dealing with subcontractors, consultants and project teams
n
A construction management, quantity surveying or related qualification
n
n
JobPac experience would be preferred, although experience with comparable construction systems will be considered.
n
You do not need to be a finished Senior CA, but you should be capable of managing your own packages and commercial workload.
n
Candidates without Australian head-contractor experience are unlikely to suit this role.
