Job Description
The Elwood Tavern is a proper independently owned neighbourhood pub serving classic pub food, cold beer, and genuine hospitality. We're looking for a Duty Manager who knows how to run a busy floor, support a team, and look after locals the right way. This role works closely with — and directly supports — the Venue Manager.

The Role

Run shifts across bar, bistro, and floor
n
Support the Venue Manager with daily operations
n
Lead staff and keep service smooth and consistent
n
Handle customer issues with common sense and confidence
n
Maintain RSA and venue safety standards
n
Assist with stock control, ordering, and cashing up
n
Keep the venue clean, organised, and welcoming
n
About You
n
Some previous management or supervisory experience is essential
n
Positive with people — steady, approachable, and reliable
n




Hands‐on operator who leads by example
n
Strong understanding of RSA and Victorian licensing
n
Loves classic pub hospitality and the community vibe
n
Keen to learn — lots of on‐the‐job training provided
