Senior Custom Coordinator – Teamwear & Sporting Equipment

Sport Group Australia is looking for an experienced Senior Custom Coordinator to join our growing Custom team.
We have a strong presence in football and are particularly interested in someone who can bring basketball or netball experience and connections to our team. Experience in cricket would also be highly regarded.
About the role
This is a hands‐on role sitting at the centre of our custom teamwear and sporting equipment business.
You'll take ownership of custom programs from confirmed order through to final delivery, working with clubs, schools, associations, suppliers and our internal teams to make sure every order is accurate, on time and delivered to a high standard.
As a Senior Custom Coordinator, you'll also take responsibility for some of our more complex accounts and programs, helping solve problems, improve processes and support other members of the Custom team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing custom teamwear and sporting equipment programs from order confirmation through to delivery
Working directly with clubs, schools and sporting associations
Coordinating artwork, mock‐ups, sizing, names and numbers, approvals and production
Managing domestic and international suppliers and decorators
Tracking production schedules, lead times and seasonal deadlines
Coordinating online team shops and club ordering programs
Managing quality issues, remakes, supplier claims and time‐critical orders




Building strong relationships with customers and providing proactive updates throughout the process
Identifying problems early and finding practical solutionsSupporting and mentoring other members of the Custom team
Helping us improve the systems and processes behind our growing custom business
About you
We're looking for someone who combines strong organisation and attention to detail with a genuine understanding of community and competitive sport.
Ideally, you'll bring:
Experience in teamwear, uniforms, sporting goods, custom apparel, merchandise or a related industry
Robust knowledge or involvement in basketball or netball
An understanding of how sporting clubs, schools and associations operate
Excellent customer and stakeholder communication skills
Experience managing multiple orders, suppliers and deadlines simultaneously
Strong attention to detail, particularly around specifications, sizing, artwork and order data
Confidence dealing with suppliers and resolving problems
The ability to work independently and take ownership of an order rather than simply process it
Strong Excel and general systems capability
Also highly regarded:
Cricket industry, club or playing experience
Experience with sublimation, screen printing, embroidery or other apparel decoration
Experience with custom sporting equipment




Existing relationships within basketball, netball or cricket
Sales, account management or business development experience, particularly within sport
Experience identifying and developing new opportunities with clubs, schools and associations
What we're looking for
More than anything, we want someone who gets sport.
You might have worked for a sporting brand, teamwear supplier, club, association, school sports program or sporting goods business. You understand that when a club says its uniforms need to arrive before Round 1, that deadline matters.
You'll be organised, commercially aware and comfortable taking responsibility. You'll communicate bad news early, solve problems rather than pass them on, and take pride in seeing an order through from start to finish.
