Job Description

UNSW College Academic English Programs (AEP) have been delivering excellence in English language education for over 50 years and provide a range of Academic English direct entry pathways to UNSW via ELICOS, Foundation Studies and Diploma programs.
n
We are currently inviting applications for TESOL qualified Academic English teachers for our end of year peak. Offers of employment are on a casual basis or fixed term contract basis, and you may be rostered up to 5 days per week on a variety of shifts across our English programs (ELICOS, Foundation and Diploma).

Successful casuals are also eligible to apply internally for ongoing / permanent roles.

What we are looking for:
n
n
An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) and an appropriate TESOL qualification (qualifications must satisfy regulation and Industry requirements including 100 contact hours and 6 hours of practicum)
n
Demonstrated ability and experience with at least three years of teaching across a range of Academic English courses and pathway programs
n
Demonstrated ability to use a range of digital tools, including generative AI and collaborative tools to enhance student engagement and success, and to streamline communication and administrative tasks
n
Demonstrated ability to adapt and provide constructive feedback on teaching materials for a range of modes and cohorts in Academic English to enhance communicative teaching approaches
n
Evidence of recent professional development activities undertaken in areas such as assessment and curriculum development, and learning design for different delivery modes
n
Positive contribution to departmental culture and communities of practice
n
Proven ability to contribute to an effective teaching team (high level communication and strong organisational skills, initiative)
n
Demonstrated ability to create academically rigorous, safe and inclusive learning environments, with sensitivity to intercultural dynamics
n
Demonstrated ability to develop innovative and creative curriculum content for Academic English programs
n
Demonstrated ability to develop a variety of assessment tasks for various modes of delivery
n
Experience coordinating Academic English programs
n
