Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April ****, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 10 and above (currently £30,030 per annum / £***** per hour)
n
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee's first FULL month's salary payment.

Job Purpose/about The Role
n
To undertake either individually or as a member of a team a variety of duties concerned with Environmental Operations including both general work and horticultural work of a specialist nature in public parks, playing fields, cemeteries, landscaped areas, public open spaces, public roads, amenity areas and housing estates.
n
The Post Holder Needs To Hold As a Minimum
n
n
SVQ level 3, or City and Guilds level in Horticulture, or equivalent qualification
n
n
The Postholder Is Able To Demonstrate
n
n
Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual.
n
Ability to understand and respond to instructions given.
n
Ability to deal with customers in a helpful and friendly manner.
n
Ability to resolve issues and contribute to continuous improvement of service.
n
Ability to complete job related sheets accurately.
n
Ability to carry out manual duties in all types of weather.
