About the Role
n
As the Transfer Station Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations, manage staff and subcontractors, and ensure the site operates efficiently and safely. You're proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with management, staff, and external authorities are essential.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Overseeing a team of up to 40 people, subcontractors, and daily operations.
n
Coordinating repairs, maintenance,



and waste/recycling collections.
n
Managing staff rosters, leave, training, and inductions.
n
Monitoring budgets and financial performance with the General Manager.
n
Liaising with councils, EPA, CFA, and other authorities.
n
Ensuring compliance with EPA guidelines and maximizing resource recovery.
n
Conducting site audits, inspections, and handling emergencies as Chief Warden.
n

The Successful Applicant will bring
n
n
Proven experience in the waste management industry.
n
The ability to supervise teams, manage subcontractors, and handle operational challenges.
n
A valid driver's license.
n
Relevant Plant licenses, including Excavator & Wheel loader (forklift preferred but not essential)
n
Computer proficiency for managing site date and records.
n
Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
n
Have a positive, 'can do' attitude.
