We are currently recruiting for a newly created Operations Director position with an established Western Australian manufacturer servicing the mining and resources sector.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced operations professional to take ownership of the company's manufacturing, production, engineering and workshop operations, while driving continuous improvement and supporting the next phase of business growth.
The business has a strong reputation within its market and is entering an exciting period of expansion, creating an opportunity for an experienced leader to make a genuine impact.
About the Role Reporting into the senior leadership team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the operation is safe, efficient, well-structured and capable of delivering to customer expectations.
Key areas of responsibility will include: Leading manufacturing, production and workshop operations Driving production efficiency, capacity and scheduling Implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives Overseeing engineering and technical functions Improving processes, systems and operational performance Supporting procurement and supply chain requirements Leading and developing operational teams Working closely with commercial and senior leadership teams Ensuring high standards across safety, quality and delivery This is a newly created position with significant scope to shape the operational strategy and implement meaningful improvements.
About You We're looking for an experienced operations leader who understands manufacturing and knows how to get the best out of people, processes and production environments.




You will ideally have: Significant senior operations or manufacturing leadership experience Background in steel, metals, heavy manufacturing, mining services or a similar workplace Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams Strong Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement capability Proven experience improving production efficiency and operational performance Strong commercial awareness and business acumen A practical, hands-on leadership style Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Operations Management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
