The advertised package represents the full time equivalent value of the role.
The successful candidate will work a permanent four-day (32-hour) week with a starting salary of approximately $80,000-$90,000 + super, depending on experience and capability.
As your responsibility, autonomy and contribution grow, there is a clear pathway toward approximately $100,000-$110,000 + super on the four-day arrangement.
The Opportunity You'll step into a residential practice with proven systems, established workflows, and a pipeline of quality work already in place.
No reinventing processes.
No creating project management systems from scratch.
No unnecessary complexity.
Just the opportunity to take ownership of great residential projects, deliver quality work, and become the person clients, consultants, and builders trust to keep projects moving.
You'll have the autonomy to run projects, make decisions, solve problems, and see your work through from concept development to builder pricing.
Ultimately, you'll manage approximately three substantial residential projects per year, with multiple projects moving through different stages at any given time.




The expectation is that you're the type of person who gets things done without needing to be chased.
What Success Looks Like - You're someone who enjoys taking ownership.
- You can confidently manage multiple residential projects at once.
- You know how to produce thorough documentation, coordinate consultants, communicate with clients, and keep deadlines on track.
- You don't wait for someone else to solve problems when they arise.
You'll be responsible for: Leading residential projects from design through documentation Producing high-quality working drawings Coordinating consultants and external stakeholders Managing client and builder communication Monitoring project scope, time allocations and deliverables Delivering projects efficiently through to builder pricing Who This Will Suit You'll likely have 4-6 years of residential architecture experience, although capability matters far more than a specific number.
You'll be comfortable working in 2D AutoCAD and have a strong understanding of residential documentation and construction.
But technical skills alone won't make someone successful here.
What matters most is how you operate.
You're organised.
Reliable.
Commercially aware.
You follow through on commitments.
You take responsibility for outcomes.
And you don't need someone standing over your shoulder to make progress.
What This Role Isn't Let's address the question many architects will be asking.
This isn't a contract administration role disguised as a design role.




You'll need to understand construction, builders, and contractual boundaries, but the practice is deliberately moving away from traditional architect-administered contracts.
If your ideal future involves spending most of your career administering contracts, variations, and routine site inspections, this probably won't be the right opportunity.
