Job Description
The Australian Migrant Resource Centre (AMRC) is seeking an experienced finance officer/ bookkeeper for its Adelaide office, supporting the Finance Team.
n
About the role
n
As a finance officer, you will be working closely within a small team and will be responsible to the Senior Finance Manager through the Finance Coordinator. You will be involved in accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and other administrative tasks across the various programs and other AMRC outlets.
n
Key responsibilities
n
Responsible for bookkeeping, including processing invoices, monitoring bank deposits and payments and liaising with suppliers
n
Responsible for preparing payroll spreadsheets, leave entitlements and other payroll-related matters
n
Assist the Finance Coordinator with payroll processing
n
Ensure financial records are compliant and kept up to date
n
Prepare various financial reports as directed by the Senior Finance Manager
n
Update and maintain the staff entitlement accruals and holiday spreadsheet for management reporting
n
Update and maintain the financial records for management reporting
n
Ensure all documentation is managed in accordance with the Privacy Act
n
Proactive in continuous professional development within the scope of work, including maintaining up to date knowledge of legislation, compliance requirements, and fair work practices relevant to the role
n
Other activities as may be directed

Desirable degree/ diploma in finance/ accounting/ business administration
n
Proficient in MYOB accounting software and Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams)
n
Strong data analysis and good attention to details
n
Good people-oriented skills to facilitate work in a multicultural environment with AMRC staff and management.
n
Solid written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to manage documents effectively
n
Work collaboratively and flexibly to effectively manage time in an environment of competing priorities
n
A current federal police clearance, DHS Check for Working with Children, NDIS Worker Check or Aged Care Sector employment screening as per program compliance.
n
Previous experience in a finance, accounts or financial administration role is preferred
n
Good knowledge of not-for-profit organisations working with the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse client groups in government-funded programs including Aged Care and NDIS programs.
