We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our South East Queensland brick and masonry manufacturing operations, based in Rochedale, QLD.
Reporting to the General Manager QLD, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across our SEQ manufacturing sites, leading teams to deliver strong results across safety, quality, productivity and profitability.
A key focus of the role will be driving Operational Excellence through continuous improvement, strategic planning, performance management and effective budget delivery, while building a high-performing and engaged team.
Duties include but are not limited to: • Lead the safe, efficient and commercially successful operation of manufacturing sites across South East Queensland, ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Lead, develop and engage high-performing teams, fostering a positive, accountable and safety-focused culture aligned with Brickworks Values.
• Drive operational performance against budgets, financial targets and KPIs, with a strong focus on productivity, quality, cost control and customer service.
• Deliver operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce costs and enhance overall site performance.
• Develop strategic operational plans and assess plant, equipment and resource requirements to support current operations and future manufacturing capacity.
• Oversee environmental and quarry management, contractor and outsourced operations, ensuring quality, productivity, compliance and commercial outcomes are achieved.
• Manage capital expenditure and operational budgets,



ensuring investment decisions support business objectives and deliver value.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, driving collaboration, business performance and long-term growth.
Success Requirements • 5–10 years' manufacturing experience, with strong knowledge of site operations and manufacturing processes, ideally across multiple sites.
• Relevant tertiary qualification, preferably in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven people leadership experience, with a track record of building high-performing teams and driving a strong safety culture.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including P L, operational and capital budget management.
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement across safety, productivity, quality, cost and customer service.
• Strong change management, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence and deliver results in a complex operational environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging employees, senior leaders and external stakeholders Why join us?
