About the opportunity We're seeking a Project Engineer / Detailer to join a specialist manufacturer of custom-engineered access solutions.
This role picks up once a sale is confirmed - you're not selling, but you are the critical link between what's been quoted and what actually gets built and installed correctly.
Working across metropolitan Sydney with very occasional regional and interstate travel, you'll be the one on-site confirming that what's been quoted matches reality, before handing off clean, accurate detailing to production.
Reports to: General Manager Package: Includes a tool-of-trade vehicle About the role You'll attend site post-sale to physically and laser-measure openings, confirming structural and dimensional suitability for the quoted product, and assessing access and conditions for the installation team that follows.
Every product is made to measure, so accuracy here has real downstream impact - on production timing, on cost, and on the finished installation.
You'll work as part of a small, cross-trained team where everyone learns the full product range, rather than specialising narrowly.
Key responsibilities Attend site to measure and assess openings for suitability and access Liaise directly with builders and site supervisors to facilitate installation Produce detailing and production/engineering documentation via in-house software Identify and raise variations where site conditions differ from the original quote Coordinate with scheduling and production to keep jobs moving to deadline Manage a live caseload of multiple concurrent projects About you You bring genuine mechanical aptitude and the confidence to hold your own with builders and site contacts, alongside the organisation to juggle a heavy paperwork load across several projects at once.
You will ideally have: A trade, engineering or technical project background Comfort managing multiple smaller, concurrent projects rather than one large site over months Confident, assertive communication with builders and site personnel Robust organisation and time management to keep detailing and paperwork on track An understanding of the commercial impact of measurement errors and rework Why this role Genuinely varied work - from suburban warehouses to CBD high-rise fit-outs Join an experienced, well-established team with strong internal training and cross-skilling Real accountability and ownership of process Backed by a business with a long track record and long-tenured team members How to apply Apply through this ad or contact Arah Ko at ************
