Large QLD Government client Contract until Jan **** Brisbane CBD location Desktop Support Officer Brisbane CBD | Contract Until Jan **** with strong extensions We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Officer to join a technical team supporting a large and complex enterprise ICT environment.
This is a hands-on, customer-focused role working predominantly across Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 environments , providing technical support, troubleshooting and deployment services to users across South East Queensland.
About the Role As a Desktop Support Officer, you will work as part of a team of ICT technical specialists responsible for maintaining reliable, secure and effective end-user technology services.
The role will involve a combination of Level 1/2 desktop support, hardware and software deployment, troubleshooting and customer engagement , with occasional travel to sites across South East Queensland.
Key Responsibilities Install, maintain and support enterprise ICT environments and end-user systems.
Provide technical support across Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
Support desktop and mobile hardware, software and conferencing room technologies.
Troubleshoot issues across operating systems, applications, hardware and connectivity.
Support enterprise end-user computing platforms including Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft Intune .
Work with IT Service Management platforms such as ServiceNow .
Support desktop security technologies including antivirus and application allowlisting/whitelisting.
Apply analytical and problem-solving skills within an ITIL-based service management environment .




Participate in the deployment and support of ICT hardware and software across multiple sites.
Provide technical advice and support to users at all levels.
Maintain high standards of customer service, documentation and service delivery.
Work collaboratively with other technical teams to resolve issues and improve ICT services.
About You You will be a customer-focused ICT professional with strong desktop support experience and the ability to troubleshoot issues within a large and complex environment.
You will ideally have: Demonstrated experience identifying, investigating and resolving ICT support issues.
Robust knowledge of desktop and mobile hardware, Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft 365 .
Experience supporting users in an enterprise or large-scale ICT workplace.
Working knowledge of networking fundamentals , including TCP/IP, LAN and WAN.
Experience with Microsoft Intune and/or Configuration Manager (SCCM) .
Experience using ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow .
An understanding of ITIL-based service management practices.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
A proactive approach to problem solving, with the ability to work autonomously.
A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn new technologies and ways of working.
