In this role, you are responsible for the overall operation and performance of the workshop, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality service delivery, and effective resource utilisation.
The role coordinates workforce scheduling and demand allocation, conducts vehicle inspections to support repair assessments and quoting, prepares accurate costings for quotations, and monitors workshop performance against operational and financial targets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure the workshop operates safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively by completing work orders on time, maintaining accurate records and inventory, and delivering high-quality services.
Negotiate, establish and manage suppliers, customer contracts and SLAs.
Effectively manage workshop staff and administrative functions by ensuring appropriate staffing levels, supporting employee performance and development, and fostering a productive teamwork environment.
Plan and allocate labour, resources and workshop capacity to meet demand, prioritise work, minimise delays and maximise utilisation and productivity.
Prepare accurate and competitive job quotations by assessing labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs, aligned with pricing guidelines, customer requirements and margin expectations.
Manage workshop financial performance through labour recovery and operating costs control.
Supporting budget delivery, identifying cost-saving opportunities, maintaining financial accuracy, and providing accurate, timely reporting.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Trade qualifications related to mechanical, electrical, and body building repairs in line with service offerings of Service Centre.
Certificate IV automotive Business or equivalent commercial management qualifications desirable.
5 years prior leadership experience in a service-focused industry i.e., commercial manufacturing, service and accident repair.
Understanding of commercial parts, service, and repairs operations.
Strong technical, customer service, and management experience.
Familiarity with both commercial ERP management and CRM systems, including Microsoft Office products.
HR/MR/LR Licence.
Industry aligned technical, mechanical, electrical industry qualifications.
