Australian Ceramics Engineering (ACE) is a market leader in the supply of wear protection systems, providing clients with complete material handling solutions—including design, fabrication and on-site support—across Australia and internationally.
As we continue to grow, we are establishing an in-house blast and paint capability at our new Canning Vale facility and are seeking an experienced Painter / Blaster to join our Operations team.
This role will support the preparation and coating of mining equipment components including chutes, liners, and wear packages supplied to leading mining clients.
Reporting to the Operations team, this is a full-time role ideal for an experienced industrial painter/blaster with strong knowledge of surface preparation standards and protective coating systems used in heavy industry and mining fabrication environments.

What You Will Be Doing
Performing abrasive blasting and surface preparation activities in accordance with recognised standards including AS **** Surface Preparation of Steel and ISO **** Surface CleanlinessStandards
Preparing fabricated mining components by removing contaminants such as rust, mill scale and previous coatings to ensure surfaces are ready for coating application
Applying industrial protective coating systems including primers, sealers and specialised coatings to mining equipment components such as chutes, liners and wear packages




Monitoring environmental conditions including humidity and temperature to ensure coating applications meet specification requirements
Inspecting surfaces prior to coating and verifying preparation standards are achieved
Ensuring correct coating application and film thickness using appropriate inspection and measurement tools
Maintaining blasting and painting equipment including spray systems, blast pots, compressors andventilation equipment
Completing QA documentation including surface preparation records, coating inspection reports and quality checklists
Supporting the development of internal blast and paint procedures as ACE expands its in-house coating capability
Working closely with tradespeople, fabrication teams and supervisors to ensure components areprepared and completed in line with production schedules
Adhering to strict safety procedures associated with abrasive blasting, coatings, hazardous materials and workshop operations
What We Are Looking For
Demonstrated experience in abrasive blasting and industrial coating within fabrication, mining or heavy industry environments
Strong knowledge of surface preparation standards and industrial protective coating systems
Experience operating blasting and coating equipment including spray systems, blast pots and compressors




Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements related to blasting and painting activities
Experience completing coating inspection checks and quality documentation
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality coating outcomes
Ability to work effectively within a workshop environment and collaborate with production teams
A proactive and safety-focused approach to work
Qualifications and Tickets
AMPP Protective Coatings or Coating Inspection Qualification (formerly NACE / SSPC) –
Required
Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application (or relevant experience) – Preferred
Forklift Licence – Preferred
Overhead crane experience – Preferred
