The role
You will turn the messy reality of an SMB's data (CRMs, ERPs, spreadsheets, inboxes, SOPs) into a connected, permissioned knowledge layer that agents can trust.
Retrieval quality, data permissions and provenance are your craft: an agent may only see what its user may see, and every answer must trace to a source.
What you'll do
Design and build knowledge layers from client systems: CRMs, ERPs, e-commerce platforms, document stores.
Build and maintain integrations and pipelines that keep the brain current.
Engineer retrieval that is measurably accurate, and prove it with evaluations.
Implement permissions and provenance so governance is enforced in the data layer, not the prompt.
Work with enablement consultants on data-readiness findings and remediation plans.




Tune the context layer as agents run, using production performance data.
What we're looking for
3+ years in data engineering, integrations or backend development.
Hands-on experience with retrieval-augmented systems, embeddings or knowledge graphs.
Comfort with imperfect source systems and the judgement to clean what matters first.
A security mindset: permissions and provenance as first-class requirements.
Bonus: experience integrating the platforms Australian SMBs actually run.
Your work is the moat: the context layer is what clients own and keep.
