Casual Instrument Technician Operating Suite | Western District Health Service Casual Opportunity Hamilton, Victoria $30 - $***** per hour (depending on experience) + 25% casual loading + Superannuation Join a values-driven organisation making a meaningful impact in rural healthcare Support safe, high-quality patient care behind the scenes Western District Health Service is seeking motivated and reliable Instrument Technicians to join our Operating Suite team on a casual basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive multidisciplinary team responsible for the reprocessing of reusable medical devices and instrumentation that are critical to the safe delivery of surgical and clinical services.
Whether you are an experienced Instrument Technician or looking to further a career in sterilisation, this role offers the opportunity to make a direct contribution to patient safety and quality care.
Working within established policies, procedures and national standards, you will help ensure the effective operation of the Operating Suite while supporting continuous improvement and best practice sterilisation services.
What You'll Be Doing Sterilisation Reprocessing Process reusable medical devices and equipment through decontamination, cleaning, inspection, packaging, sterilisation, storage and distribution processes in accordance with AS **** standards and WDHS requirements.
Quality, Safety Compliance Maintain accurate documentation and monitoring records, identify equipment faults or process deviations and support quality improvement activities that contribute to safe and effective patient care.
Teamwork Collaboration Work closely with Operating Suite staff and members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure instruments and equipment are available when required and customer needs are met efficiently.
Professional Development Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain contemporary knowledge of sterilisation practices and industry standards.
Leadership Mentoring (Grade 3) Assist in the supervision, training and mentoring of other Instrument Technicians and contribute to the effective functioning of the department.
What You Bring Certificate 3 or 4 in Health Sterilising Practice for Technicians (or equivalent) for Grade 2 and Grade 3 applicants Minimum three years' experience for Grade 3 applicants Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and patient safety Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Sound communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain) Rights to work in Australia Ability to participate in shift work and on-call arrangements where required Why Join Western District Health Service?
