As a Senior Veterinary Nurse at RSPCA Queensland's Domestic Hospital based in Wacol, you'll combine hands-on clinical nursing with meaningful people leadership.
You'll mentor and develop veterinary nurses, hospital assistants, trainees and volunteers while helping create a positive, capable and high-performing hospital team.
Full-time and part-time positions available!
Alongside complex clinical care, you'll support day-to-day hospital operations, improve workflows and work closely with veterinarians and senior leaders to deliver outstanding patient care.
In this role, you will:
Lead, mentor and develop veterinary nurses, hospital assistants, trainees and volunteers.
Provide clinical guidance, feedback, training and support to build team capability and performance.
Deliver high-quality nursing care across medical, surgical, emergency and complex cases.
Support surgery, anaesthesia, diagnostics, triage, critical care and patient recovery.
Partner with veterinarians to support effective case management, patient flow and hospital operations.
Maintain high standards of clinical documentation, infection control and regulatory compliance.
Support rostering, stock, equipment and other day-to-day operational requirements.
Contribute to new systems, clinical guidelines and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Bring to the Role
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent.
Strong clinical experience across medical, surgical and emergency veterinary nursing.
Demonstrated experience leading, supervising or mentoring others in a clinical environment.
Sound judgement and confidence managing complex or high-pressure situations.
Strong communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills.
Excellent organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities.
A resilient, adaptable and solutions-focused approach.
Robust alignment with RSPCA Queensland's purpose and commitment to animal welfare.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including lifting a minimum of 10kg.
