The Role
n
Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the Payroll & HR Systems Lead owns the accurate and compliant end-to-end fortnightly payroll while supporting HR service delivery across the employee lifecycle including onboarding, employment changes, records management, compliance tracking and people reporting.
n
The role also leads payroll and HRIS improvement work, from requirements gathering and process design through to testing and implementation, with a clear mandate to reduce manual administration and lift automation. It will suit someone who enjoys owning the payroll run and improving the systems behind it.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Process and reconcile fortnightly payroll for circa 200 permanent and casual staff, responding promptly to employee queries.
n
Maintain compliance with payroll legislation, taxation and superannuation obligations, and lead the annual end-of-financial-year people data audit.
n
Prepare employment contracts, addendums and records, and manage onboarding, employment changes and exit processes end to end.
n
Coordinate system access with IT for new starters, internal movements and departures.
n
Maintain personnel compliance trackers and provide accurate data for Work Cover, WGEA and other statutory reporting.
n
Provide timely people data to support remuneration benchmarking, diversity, engagement and workforce planning.
n
Support HRIS reviews, upgrades and integrations, and lead payroll change activity across salary packaging, novated leasing, superannuation and insurance providers.

Identify automation and workflow opportunities, and maintain payroll and HR procedures and guidelines.

Skills & Experience
n
n
Demonstrated end-to-end payroll processing experience combined with generalist HR exposure.
n
Strong working knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and payroll best practice.
n
Experience across a range of payroll and HR platforms, with the confidence to pick up new systems quickly.
n
Demonstrated involvement in payroll or HR systems projects, upgrades or process improvement initiatives.
n
High attention to detail, with strong analytical, numeracy and problem-solving skills.
n
Proven ability to develop explicit process documentation, procedures and user guides.
n
Sound understanding of Australian workplace relations, WHS legislation, governance and data privacy principles.
n
Excellent written and verbal communication, strong Excel and SharePoint skills, and a collaborative, service-focused approach.
n

With wonderful offices in Melbourne and Sydney and smaller facilities in Adel/ Perth/ Hobart this position can be hybrid or virtually remote. The choice is yours!
