Our client is an innovative education organisation working with Indigenous secondary students from remote communities across northern Australia.
They are seeking an experienced Program Coordinator to lead the planning and delivery of an intensive youth engagement program in the remote Kimberley, near Fitzroy Crossing.
The program supports Indigenous young people who may have become disengaged from education, using on Country learning, culture, outdoor experiences, relationships and personal development to build confidence, connection and pathways back into education.
This is not a traditional classroom role.
It is a hands-on prospect to work alongside Indigenous leaders, young people and program staff in a culturally rich, remote environment.
The Opportunity As Program Coordinator, you will take responsibility for the planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of several intensive programs.
Working in partnership with an Indigenous cultural leader, you will help ensure each program is culturally appropriate, operationally well organised and provides a safe and positive experience for participating young people.
Your responsibilities will include: Build positive relationships with local communities, students and program staff Work collaboratively with Indigenous cultural leaders throughout planning and delivery Support the recruitment and preparation of program staff and participants Lead staff induction, training and preparation Provide practical leadership,



guidance and feedback during program delivery Coordinate culturally relevant educational, outdoor and experiential activities Organise program equipment, educational materials and resources Manage staff rosters and day to day program operations Coordinate transport, vehicles, catering, accommodation and other logistics Monitor program expenditure against approved budgets Support program evaluation and reporting Develop and implement appropriate risk management plans Ensure First Aid, medical information and emergency procedures are appropriately managed About You This role would suit someone with experience across outdoor education, youth programs, community engagement, residential education, Indigenous education or remote program coordination.
You will be someone who enjoys being hands on and can confidently coordinate multiple elements of a program while never losing sight of the young people at its centre.
You will ideally bring: Experience working with adolescents, including young people experiencing disadvantage or disengagement Genuine respect for Aboriginal culture, traditions and communities Experience delivering outdoor, experiential, camping or youth development activities Strong relationship building skills with young people, staff and community members Experience coordinating programs, people and logistics Confidence leading and supporting staff Strong organisational and communication skills An understanding of risk management and student safety Resilience and adaptability within a remote environment A collaborative approach and willingness to listen,



learn and work alongside Indigenous leaders Experience within remote communities, residential or boarding environments, Indigenous youth programs or outdoor education will be highly regarded.
A teaching qualification may be advantageous, however candidates with relevant qualifications and practical experience in Outdoor Education, Outdoor Recreation, Youth Work, Community Services or program coordination are strongly encouraged to apply.
Mandatory Requirements Current First Aid qualification, with Remote First Aid highly regarded Current Australian Driver's Licence Current WA Working with Children Check Current National Police Check Australian working rights Manual driving and 4WD experience will also be highly regarded.
