About the Role
Reporting to the Emergency Management Coordinator, the MESO provides integrated emergency management and clinical support across site. This role combines emergency response, remote medicine, training, and operational readiness responsibilities. The position also provides relief for the Emergency Management Coordinator and supports the delivery of medical services by assisting with operational coverage where required.
Please note: We're searching for two back‐to‐back MESO's on a full‐time roster 8/6 Wednesday- Wednesday
Key Responsibilities
Participate in field interactions, risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety engagement activities.
Promote workforce health, wellbeing,



injury prevention, and fitness‐for‐work initiatives.
Assist with the development, implementation, and review of emergency management plans, procedures, and systems.
Conduct inspections, compliance checks, and maintenance of emergency response and medical equipment.
Perform clinical duties within the medical centre, including health assessments, AM/PM clinics, and patient care.
Maintain rescue stations, medical facilities, and emergency equipment in a state of operational readiness.
Deliver and support Emergency Response Team (ERT) training programs across medical, rescue, and incident response disciplines.
Coordinate emergency response activities, including medical evacuations and liaison with external agencies such as the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Deliver emergency medical assessment, treatment, and response to workplace and non‐workplace incidents.
Provide relief coverage for the Emergency Management Coordinator and support the medical function during periods of unplanned absences and increased operational demand.
Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of site emergency preparedness and response capability.
Maintain accurate clinical, incident, and compliance records.




Conduct drug and alcohol testing in accordance with site procedures.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across emergency response and medical systems.
What You'll Bring
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Medical Emergency Services Officer, Industrial Paramedic, Remote Area Paramedic, or similar role in mining, industrial, defence, emergency services, or other high‐risk environments.
Demonstrated experience supporting emergency response operations, Emergency Response Team (ERT) development, and clinical service delivery.
Certificate IV in Health Care (HLT*****).
Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue or Public Safety Firefighting Operations (or currently working towards completion).
HLTPAT005 – Authorised Specimen Collection for Drugs of Abuse.
Proven experience working across emergency response, remote medicine, and incident management environments.
Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to remain calm and effective in high‐pressure and emergency situations.
Ability to work across both clinical and emergency management functions.
Current Manual Driver's Licence (HR licence highly desirable).
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
Underground Search and Rescue qualification.
Diploma in Emergency Health Care, Paramedical Science, Nursing, or a related discipline.
TAE***** Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Experience delivering emergency response or medical training programs.
