As a Senior Mining Support Specialist within the International Operation Section (IOS) Support team, based in Brisbane and will require you to travel extensively to our international mine sites, and you'll be the technical authority that keeps global mining operations running — bringing structured problem-solving and deep product knowledge to some of the world's most demanding mine sites.
What You'll Be Doing
Provide high-level technical support for Hitachi mining equipment, resolving complex hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues escalated from field teams and international customers
Lead root cause analysis investigations and deliver documented findings and corrective action recommendations to stakeholders across multiple regions
Partner with IOS colleagues, product support, and parts teams to improve fleet reliability outcomes for key mining accounts operating internationally
Step up to cover additional responsibilities during periods of high demand or team absence, contributing to a resilient and team-oriented support function
What You Bring




A minimum of 10 years' hands-on experience with Hitachi heavy equipment — this is the foundation the IOS Support team is built on
A relevant trade or engineering qualification
Proven experience in a customer-facing technical support role, with the communication skills to engage clearly and professionally across all levels
The ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing competing priorities independently when required
Experience working with global dealer networks or international business relationships, including an understanding of cultural sensitivities, will be highly regarded
Credentials such as welding certification, CAD proficiency, Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing, EA membership, or RPEQ registration are advantageous
