Mechanical Design Engineer

My client designs a range of bespoke automation equipment. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Adelaide on a permanent basis.
n
Salary - $120,000 - $140,000 per annum, dependent on experience
n
Type – Permanent
n
Location – Adelaide, SA
n
n
At least 4 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position
n
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
n
Highly skilled with 3D CAD, ideally Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 etc.
n
Experience designing machinery with moving mechanisms, actuators, drives, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, or other mechanical assemblies
n
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic system design, including cylinders, valves, manifolds, and associated components.
n
Experience working with fabricated steelwork, sheet metal, machined components, and welded assemblies
n
Good theoretical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
n
Strong practical skills with hand calculations, manufacturing,



testing and prototyping
n
Experienced designing products from concept to production
n
Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
n
Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry
n
Able to work well individually as well as part of a team
n

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
n
Managing the full product lifecycle from concept to production
n
Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
n
Liaising with manufacturing providers
n
Being involved in final assembly
n
Creating required documentation for design and project reports
n
Updating 3D models and drawings
n
Inputting parts into the MRP system and creating BOMs
n
Checking drawings for sign off
n
Working in a small, multi-disciplinary team on wide-ranging projects
