Teachers are a part of a teamresponsible for providing high-quality programs that contribute tostudent success, both academic and social and for ensuring that allstudents learn in a safe and secure setting. A teacher isrequired to set a high standard of professional
performance,adherence
to all College regulations, personal self-discipline,dress and appearance.

Job tasks and responsibilities:

Prepare comprehensive semester planners inline with departmental policies.
n
Follow school policies and procedures withregard to curriculum, student management,
monitoring,assessment
and reporting.
n
Attend all curriculum days
(includingintercampus
curriculum days) throughout the year.
n
Ensure that the school and
classroomenvironments
are safe, conducive to learning and promoteacceptable behaviour.
n
Be involved in the pastoral care andcounselling of students in conjunction with other
appropriateprofessionals.
n
Communicate student progress to parentsthrough weekly work samples or assessments, students' books andassessment and reflection folders each term, interviews andformal semester reports.
n
Implement (from time to time)extra-curricular activities, extra periods, yard duties, sportsduties,



school camping activities, supplementary
courses,competition
preparations, entrance exam duties.
n
Use Information and
CommunicationTechnologies
to present engaging and challenging
learningexperiences.
n
Plan and present learning experiences thatare student centred and outcomes focussed.
n
n
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
n
n
Minimum of Bachelor degree in a
relevantdiscipline.
n
Minimum of 12 months relevant experience.
n
Current VIT registration.
n
Update/acquire First Aid Level 2certificate with EPIPEN skills.
n
Ability to integrate IT into the curriculumand teaching practice.
n
Interpersonal skills to
effectivelycommunicate
with students and colleagues.
n
Able to manage pastoral issues relative tostaff, students and parents through effective dialogue and process.
n
Well-developed report writing and oralcommunication skills.
n
Up to date knowledge of
contemporaryteaching
application and theory.
n
