The Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz Association aims to transform tomorrow's medicine through our discoveries of today. At locations in Berlin-Buch, Berlin-Mitte, Heidelberg and Mannheim, our researchers harness interdisciplinary collaboration to decipher the complexities of disease at the systems level – from molecules and cells to organs and the entire organism. Through academic, clinical, and industry partnerships, as well as global networks, we strive to translate biological discoveries into applications that enable the early detection of deviations from health, personalize treatment, and ultimately prevent disease. First founded in ****, the Max Delbrück Center today inspires and nurtures a diverse talent pool of 1,800 people from over 70 countries. We are 90percent funded by the German federal government and 10percent by the state of Berlin.
The research group of Prof. Karina Yaniv at the Helmholtz Institute for Translational AngioCardioScience (HI-TAC) is looking for a motivated and team-oriented Bioinformatician (f/m/d) to join its growing interdisciplinary research team. As a newly established laboratory, we offer a unique opportunity to actively contribute to shaping an ambitious research program from the outset. In a dynamic and international environment, bioinformaticians and experimental researchers work closely together to address key questions in vascular biology and develop novel therapeutic approaches. Our research focuses on the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying blood and lymphatic vessel development, tissue regeneration, and vascular diseases. To address these questions, we combine state-of-the-art approaches,
including single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, epigenomics, imaging, functional genetics, and computational biology.
As a Bioinformatician (f/m/d), you will work closely with experimental researchers and contribute to projects throughout the entire research process—from study design and data processing to statistical analysis and biological interpretation. By delivering high-quality, reproducible analyses, you will play an important role in generating new biological insights and advancing collaborative research projects.
Job Description
Development and maintenance of reproducible analysis workflows for bulk, single-cell, and spatial transcriptomics data
Analysis and integration of complex multi-omics datasets, particularly transcriptomic and epigenomic data
Statistical analysis, data visualization, and biological interpretation of high-dimensional datasets
Close collaboration with experimental researchers on study design, data analysis, and interpretation
Application and further development of state-of-the‐art bioinformatics methods for single‐cell and spatial omics data
Contribution to scientific publications, conference presentations, and collaborative grant applications
