Great teachers do more than deliver a syllabus. They get involved.
They know their students. They bring energy into the classroom. They show up for the carnival, contribute beyond their timetable and genuinely enjoy being part of school life. That is the kind of teacher who thrives at Clarence Valley Anglican School.
We are seeking an experienced
PDHPE Teacher to join our Secondary team from Term 1, ****.
This is a full-time teaching role with something extra, the chance to take on Leader of Learning responsibilities and gain valuable exposure to curriculum leadership.
You will still spend most of your time doing what you love, teaching and engaging students, but you will also help shape curriculum, assessment and teaching practice within your learning area. It is an ideal next step for someone who is ready to grow but does not want their first leadership prospect to feel overwhelming.
You do not need to arrive as an experienced faculty leader. You do need to bring initiative, sound judgement and a genuine desire to learn. Support and mentoring will be available as you build your leadership capability.
Why do teachers enjoy working here?
Clarence Valley Anglican School is a welcoming, community-minded K-12 school where relationships matter.
Teachers work together, share ideas and are united by a genuine passion for young people.
Students are known as individuals, senior classes allow for meaningful engagement, and staff are encouraged to contribute their strengths both inside and outside the classroom.
It is a positive environment for teachers who want to make an impact, continue developing professionally and feel connected to the wider life of their school.
What will you be teaching?
You will teach PDHPE across Years 7-10 and Stage 6, including:
Health and Movement Science
Community and Family Studies
Experience teaching both Stage 6 subjects within an Australian school is essential.
What's needed for your success
Secondary teaching experience in Australia
Proven experience teaching Health and Movement Science and CAFS
Strong classroom management and the ability to engage different learners
A collaborative, positive and student-focused approach
Willingness to contribute to sport, co-curricular activities and school life
Commitment to child-safe practice and the Anglican character and values of the School
If you love teaching, enjoy being part of a school community and are ready to take a supported step into leadership, this could be exactly the prospect you have been waiting for.
Applications close 27 September ****
