Job Description
The Successful candidates will need to undertake and possess:

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding, filling cracks and holes, and removing old paint or coatings.
n
Apply paint, varnish, stains, and protective coatings to buildings, structures, equipment, and other objects.
n
Provide high-quality decorative finishes while protecting surfaces from water, rust, corrosion, weathering, and everyday wear.
n
Select and mix paints, varnishes, stains, and protective coatings to achieve required colours, consistency, and finishes.
n
Apply primers, undercoats, finishing coats, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other appropriate equipment.
n
Sand surfaces between coats to achieve smooth, even, and durable finishes.
n
Perform colour matching and paint touch-ups to correct imperfections and maintain consistent finishes.
n
Repair minor surface defects before painting, including cracks, holes, dents,



and damaged coatings.
n
Mask and protect surrounding surfaces, fixtures, furniture, and equipment from paint and preparation materials.
n
Inspect completed painting work to ensure correct coverage, colour, finish, and quality.
n
Clean and maintain brushes, rollers, spray equipment, tools, and other painting equipment.
n
Maintain clean, organised, and protected work areas throughout painting projects. Safely handle, store, and dispose of paints, solvents, chemicals, and waste materials.
n
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures.
n
Follow job specifications, manufacturer instructions, and relevant industry standards when preparing and applying coatings.
