An excellent opportunity has become available for a lawyer to join a growing Planning, Environment and Government practice in Sydney.

Working alongside experienced practitioners, you will advise government, corporate and development clients across a broad range of planning, environmental, development and regulatory matters. The position offers exposure to complex and high-quality work, with the opportunity to build your technical expertise while taking on increasing responsibility and direct client interaction.

The team offers a collaborative environment where you will have the opportunity to broaden your experience across a varied mix of matters and work closely with senior practitioners and clients.

The Role
n
You will work across a diverse mix of advisory and contentious planning and environmental matters, which may include:
n
n
Advising on planning, development and environmental approval processes.
n
Assisting clients with major development and infrastructure projects.
n
Advising on planning controls, environmental regulation and statutory requirements.
n
Acting on matters involving local and state government authorities.
n




Advising government and private sector clients on regulatory and compliance issues.
n
Assisting with planning disputes, appeals and enforcement matters.
n
Providing advice in relation to development applications, approvals and consent requirements.
n
Conducting legal research and preparing advice on complex planning and environmental issues.
n
Working directly with clients, consultants, government bodies and other project stakeholders.
n

The role provides the opportunity to develop experience across both advisory and contentious matters while working on significant projects and developments.

About You
n
Ideally, you will have:
n
n
At least 2 years' post-admission experience in planning, environment, government or a related area of law.
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
n
Sound legal research, drafting and analytical capabilities.
n
A commercial and practical approach to providing legal advice.
n
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
n
A team-oriented approach and confidence working with clients and colleagues.
