About the role
Mater Hospital Brisbane
is seeking a motivated and compassionate
Registered Nurse
to join our
Acute Medical and Respiratory Inpatient team
in a
permanent part-time
position,
working 32 hours per week.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative acute care environment, providing high-quality, patient-centred care to a diverse patient cohort.
You'll be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team that is committed to delivering exceptional clinical outcomes and positive patient experiences.
As a Registered Nurse within the Acute Medical and Respiratory team, you will play a key role in delivering safe, evidence-based care while supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey.
You will:
Deliver high-quality nursing care and achieve optimal patient outcomes
Conduct patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans
Collaborate with medical, nursing, allied health, and community care teams to provide coordinated care
Advocate for patients and support informed healthcare decision-making
Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management initiatives
Support the development of students and less experienced team members
Maintain clinical excellence through ongoing professional development
About you
You are a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Passionate about delivering exceptional patient care, you bring strong clinical expertise,
sound judgement, and a commitment to delivering positive outcomes for patients and their families.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions
A minimum of 3 years' experience in medical and respiratory nursing
Recent acute care nursing experience within a hospital setting
Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
A commitment to patient-centred care, safety, and continuous improvement
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
Availability to work a 24/7 rotating roster, including early, late, night, and weekend shifts
