The Opportunity
Christ the King School is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative
Primary Teacher: Science
to join our learning community.
This role provides an opportunity to inspire curiosity, creativity and scientific thinking through engaging, evidence-informed learning experiences.
The successful applicant will plan and deliver a balanced and challenging Science program aligned with the Australian Curriculum, responding to the diverse learning needs, abilities and interests of primary-aged students.
Working collaboratively with the school leadership team, teaching colleagues, support staff and families, the Primary Science Teacher will help students develop scientific knowledge, inquiry skills and confidence as capable learners.
The teacher will also contribute positively to the Catholic identity, culture and broader life of Christ the King School.
Key responsibilities include:
Plan and deliver a comprehensive and engaging Primary Science learning program aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
Create practical and inquiry-based learning experiences that encourage curiosity, problem-solving, critical thinking and active participation.
Differentiate teaching and learning to respond to students' varying abilities, learning needs and learning styles, including the use of Individual Learning Plans where appropriate.
Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, well-organised and productive learning environment, ensuring equipment and resources are prepared and appropriate for planned activities.
Use purposeful assessment and reporting practices to monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback and communicate achievement to students and families.




Develop positive relationships with students and use consistent, effective behaviour education strategies in accordance with school policies and procedures.
Collaborate with colleagues to reflect upon and strengthen teaching practice and contribute positively to school activities, professional learning and curriculum development.
Complete required planning, record-keeping, reporting and administrative responsibilities accurately and within designated timeframes
About You
We are seeking a teacher who:
Holds current Teacher Registration in South Australia.
Has demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience relevant to teaching Science within a primary school setting.
Can design engaging, practical and differentiated learning experiences that support successful outcomes for all students.
Demonstrates strong curriculum knowledge and a commitment to contemporary, evidence-informed teaching practice.
Builds positive and effective relationships with students, colleagues, parents and caregivers.
Has excellent written and verbal communication skills and works collaboratively as part of a team.
Is organised, self-directed and able to use initiative, exercise skilled judgement and meet required timelines.
Demonstrates effective ICT skills and the capacity to use digital tools and school systems to support teaching, assessment and administration.
Is willing to actively uphold and contribute to the Catholic identity, culture and ethos of Christ the King School.
Holds, or is able to obtain and maintain, the required First Aid certification, Working with Children Clearance and Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect, Education and Care certification.




Holds Teacher Accreditation in Catholic Education SA or can meet the applicable accreditation requirements.
