Job Description
The Leading Hand & Mechanical Maintenance Fitter is the 'go-to technical expert' for the Plant and Equipment.
n
As an experienced, working team member you are responsible for the safe operation & maintenance of Plant and Equipment.
n
n
The person must have the ability to undertake plant operation and maintenance programs. The range of projects and programs may vary according to direction of the Production Manager.
n
The person must accept responsibility for quality and standard of work performed, including the work of other team members when working in a team workplace.
n
The person must be responsible for allocated materials, tools, equipment, vehicles and plant in his/her use and other
employees/contractors
when working under their supervision.
n
The person is responsible for understanding quality control/assurance procedures,
including ability to recognize and report quality deviation and/or faults.
n
The Leading Hand is also responsible for motivating and training Plant Operators and Contractors
n
The Leading Hand is also responsible for ensuring OH&S; requirements of team members, under their supervision, are met and promoting the culture of safety within their shifts.
n
The person ensures that all plant assets are properly managed and safeguarded.
n
The person must perform their duties in such a way that their actions do not lead to negative environmental or workplace health and safety impacts.
n
The person may be asked to work in a production role when there are no maintenance duties to perform.
n
